CLEVELAND, Ohio – Susan Helper, the chief economist at the U.S. Department of Commerce, says small businesses could offer more innovative solutions for manufacturing growth with better collaboration from the government and larger corporations.

Helper, has been on leave from the Weatherhead School of Management Case Western Reserve University for the last three years. She took time Monday evening to share with students and community members highlights of a manufacturing report released last week when President Obama was in Cleveland.
